Lesson 10 Hiragana Lesson 17
Lesson 11 Translated from Russian by Alain Arkhipov

Hiragana is one of two Japanese syllabic scripts.

It's possible to write down all Japanese words with Hiragana only because any kanji character can be substituted with a combination of Hiragana characters.

Look through hiragana characters below. Try to learn by heart these 46 characters.

You should remember all Hiragana characters well.
You should be able to read and write them easily.
We recommend you to learn about 5 characters a day.
Following this recommendation the lesson will take about 10-15 days.
Hiragana

Without understanding hiragana it will be difficult for you to continue learning Japanese.

We recommend you to make 46 small cards with a Hiragana character on one side and its pronunciation on other side.

We suppose it'll be useful for you to look through next lesson. There you can find some information how to draw Hiragana characters and how to pronounce them.
